Jeep accessories part 3

There are many different add ons for jeeps. A lot of these things do not serve a real purpose other than fun or to look cool. A jeep accessory I would love to buy is called the jammock. The jammock is kind of like a hammock. It is strung across the top of your jeep when it is topless and is attached to the roll cage. It is made of a strong rubber and basically it is just a fun thing to be able to sit in. You can use the jammock to relax while taking a break on the trail of even use it for camping.
Other things you can add to your jeep is a sound system. Most jeeps do not come with a very good speaker system so a lot of people add their own. I added a 10 inch sub woofer to my jeep because during the summer months I have the top off my jeep and the stock speaker system is very hard to hear with the wind blowing. With my added speaker system my music is a lot easier to hear while going down the road. A speaker system is by no means a necessity for your jeep and serves a very fun purpose.
Another product that isn't a necessity is called kik bax. Kik bax are used during the warm months when you have your top and doors off. Kik bax are a rear view mirror and foot peg combo that are mounted together and have slots on them That allow you to put them where your door is supposed to be. Most people roll with no rear view mirror during the warm months and that can potentially be dangerous so kik bax allow you to roll down the road with the doors off more safely. The foot pegs are also nice because it allows you to have your foot in a comfortable position while you go cruising.

There are almost other accessories people like putting on their jeep like are paracord oh shit handles. These are nice because they give you something to grab on to when going over rough terrain. Jeeps are by far the most customizable vehicles ever created and because of that I believe that they are the best vehicles in the world.

Jeep accessories part 2

This will be part two of my jeep accessories blog. A recap of last blog is that there are many different ways to customize your jeep such as lights, lift kits and fenders. But there are far more than just those customizations.

Another customization is Rock rails or sliding rails. The purpose of rock rails/ sliding rails is to be able to crawl over rocks with out denting the sides of your jeep. They also act as running boards. Many different styles of rock rails exist. Some rock rails are made from metal tubing and gives off a more stylish look. Others are made of just solid steel. The solid steel rock rails provide better protection but are not very stylish. So whatever rock rails you buy you have to choose either better protection or better style.

A very popular customization is bumpers. Bumpers provide protection from front and rear collisions. There are a multitude of different styles for bumpers. One style is called a stinger bumper. A stinger bumper is made of steel and goes over where the original bumper was but was a horseshoe shaped piece of metal tubing coming out of the front of it. The stinger bumper has many application. Is can protect the vehicle from collisions like any other bumper and with the horseshoe shaped piece of metal tubing comes out an angle that allows you to go down very steep inclines. How this works is the ground will catch the bumper and the angle the piece of metal tubing is at will actually bring your front tires to the ground instead of you just going front first into the ground and getting stuck. Another bumper is just a regular steel bumper. The purpose of this bumper is to protect from collisions. These bumpers come in different variations from Just a slab of metal to having a slot to hold a winch and a place to put D-rings.

There are also interior customization. One interior customization is seats. There are many different kinds of seats to put in your jeep. The stock seats that come in a jeep is a normal cloth seat with a normal three point seat belt. You can get leather seats for a far more comfortable ride. Another type of custom seat is a racing seat. Racing seats caress the driver better and also have more advanced seat belts. People use these seats for extreme off roading.

Jeep Accessories, Part 1
I believe jeeps to one of the most customizable vehicles ever made, Almost no two jeeps are exactly alike. Many people like to customize their lights. Some people like halogen lights which typically give off a bright blue color and are much better than a typical white light. Another type of light is LED lights which are not really a certain color just very bright. Many people like to put light bars on their jeeps which is a long rectangular light with multiple LED lights inside of it. Another type of light customization light covers, many people like to put cool covers over their lights, some cool ones I have seen is an American flag cover for the rear lights and a captain America shield cover for the headlights.
Another customization is lift kits. There are many different kinds of lift kits for a multitude of applications. A small three inch lift kit would make the jeep slightly better off road and able to fit slightly bigger tires. A common six inch lift kit is the standard for people who want to use their jeeps off road all the time and drive on the road to get there. A six inch lift kit will let u fit thirty five inch tires. Once you get to lift kits over six inches that is when the vehicle is no longer allowed on public roads. Lift kits bigger than six inches such as a ten inch lift kit is pretty much just for off road purposes such as mudding and rock crawling. With these huge lift kits you are able fit monstrous tires far bigger than thirty five’s.
There is a multitude of other customizations for your jeep, fenders are another. There are different fenders for many different applications. Very wide fenders are for jeeps with very wide wheel bases. The purpose of these fenders are to stop mud from being flung everywhere by the wide tires. There are also steel fenders, these fenders are for jeeps that go off roading a lot. The steel fenders are hard to tear off and make them very sufficient for off roading.

There are far to many types of jeep customization  to talk about in just one blog, therefore this blog will be split in to a part one and a part 2. Stay tuned for part two of the jeep accessories blog.

Tires
Jeeps of all kinds, from Cherokee’s to wranglers are some of the most customizable vehicles on the market. From internal customization’s to cosmetic customization's , you can make your jeep exactly how you like it.
In this blog I am going to talk about different tires for jeeps. What you use your jeep for will depend on what kind of tires you should put on your jeep. A standard Jeep will roll off the lot with regular radial tires. These tires are for the most part smooth except for a few little grooves to give it some traction. These kinds of tires are good for pretty much just pavement driving. They wouldn’t  get to much traction in any kind of mud. These tires are for people who have their jeep as their daily driver, not as a toy.
The next kind of tires I will talk about is all terrain tires. All terrain tires are a mixture of radial tires and off road tires. They are still pretty smooth but have grooves in it, but the grooves are quite a bit deeper  than they are on radials. The deeper grooves give the tires more traction and therefore make it better able to go off road. This type of tire would be good for people who are on pavement most of the time, but occasionally need to go off road, whether for fun, like camping, or for useful purposes, like a construction worker.
The next type of tire I am going to talk about is off road tires. Off road tires are good for going off road (duh). These tires have much deeper grooves in them, compared to radials or all terrain tires, for excellent traction in dirt, mud, sand or any other kind of off road terrain. These tires are good for people who drive off road daily but still need to drive on the road. An example of someone who could use these tires are is someone who works in a stone quarry.

The last type of tire I am going to talk about is mud or bogger tires. These tires have huge grooves in them for the best  traction in mud or sand. These tires serve one purpose, Fun. These tires are not even legal on the roads. Some one who would use these tires is somebody who built their jeep strictly as a mud bog jeep. A mud bog is a pit of very deep mud.

Jeep Wrangler

The jeep Wrangler is a direct descendent of the very first jeeps, the Willys. The style of the Jeep Wrangler is a very unique look and hasn’t changed very drastically since its beginning. The jeep wrangler’s body style is basically a stylish box.
The wrangler we know today came from the Jeep Willys which was the primary vehicle used by the army in World War two. The Jeep Willys had no top and a flat grill with seven slots in the front. The Jeep Willys had a small four cylinder engine and the rest of the vehicle was in proportion to that. These vehicles went damn near everywhere and that was the reason the military used them. The soldiers who drove the Jeep Willys grew very fond of them and many ended up owning there own Jeep Willys when they arrived back home. The Army also used the Jeep Willys in other wars such as the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The returning soldiers created a whole new market for Jeeps. The returning soldiers wanted a vehicle similar to the ones they used while overseas, one that could go anywhere. Thus the CJ or civilian jeep was born. The CJ went off the body style of the Jeep Willys but was a bit larger. The CJ could come with a powerful V8 engine and a larger frame but kept the principles of the Willys. Unlike the willys the CJ had a removable top instead of no top at all. Ex soldiers fell in love with the CJ as well as the rest of America. Everyone loved the freedom of driving a jeep down the road with the top off and the fact that it could go wherever you wanted it to go.
The Jeep Wrangler came after the CJ and was very similar. First came the YJ model Jeep wrangler which was much smaller than the CJ’s with its four or six cylinder engine. Another difference was the grill which now had square headlights. Next came the TJ model Jeep  Wrangler which was very similar to the YJ but they made it a little more sleek and stylish with its round headlights which looked more like the original Willys. After the TJ came the JK and JKU model Wranglers. Not a lot changed with the JK except for the newer technologies that most new cars have and they also tilted the grill slightly to give it even more of a sleek look. Jeep noticed they were missing something and that was a family jeep. Thus came the JKU which was just like the JK except it had four doors. I hope you enjoyed this brief history of the Jeep Wrangler.

The history of jeep

There are many different kinds of jeeps. ranging from the first ones built during world war two to the brand new wrangler jk's. The first jeeps were very simplistic and very rugged. They were built for the army so they had to be. They were the toughest vehicles out there. Many people today consider the first jeeps to be highly collectable and many restore them to as they were rolling off the assembly line. The first jeeps were named the willys .Back then jeeps wasn’t a company all on its own. During wartime most car manufacturers had to switch to wartime production. For example some jeeps are technically a ford because they were built by the ford motor company in the ford factory. Some were made by Chevy and some made by dodge.
Have you ever noticed the seven slots on the grill of any jeep, have you ever wondered what it means? The seven slots on the grill of any jeep represents the fact that a jeep was the first jeep to ever drive on all seven continents.
After world war two, Jeep became a car company all its own and began making jeeps for the public. The first Jeeps available to the public was the the CJ, which stands for civilian jeep. The CJ was based on the old willys But got a makeover to make it more appealing to the buyers market. The first CJ’s were heavy and had a big V8 engine. Jeep also came out with other vehicles such as the Wagoneer to appeal to someone whos not all about fun and didn’t want an open top.The Wagoneer was a family vehicle.

After the CJ came the Jeep Wrangler YJ. The new wranglers were very similar to the CJ’s as both had open tops and very similar body design. The new Wrangler were smaller than the old CJ’s and had much smaller engines. Though the new Wranglers were smaller than the old CJ’s they could go anywhere. There short wheel base and light weight made them able to tackle the roughest of terrain. Next came the Wrangler TJ. The wrangler TJ was just an updated model of the XJ with new electronics and a new look. After the TJ came the Wrangler JK and JKU, with the new model jeep came out with again a new look updated electronics, etc, etc. But jeep came out with something a little different, the JKU. The JKU was a four door jeep which opened the door for a new variety of jeep owners.
